Zumba logo

- goes from strength to strength!

The Zumba® craze has hit Angus Leisure so hard that extra classes have been added to the already packed programme.

Let's face it, working out can be healthy, rewarding and beneficial. Working out can be lots of things, but it's never been known to be an exhilarating experience... UNTIL NOW!

Zumba Party

The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. Our goal is simple: We want you to want to work out, to love working out, to get hooked. Zumba® Fanatics achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exciting hour of calorie-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life!

The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavour and international zest into the mix and you've got a Zumba® class!

In the past years, the Zumba® program has become nothing short of a revolution, spreading like wildfire, and positioning itself as the single most influential movement in the industry of fitness.

In Angus alone since the launch in July 2010, numbers have gone through the roof with more than 1500 attendances a week enjoying the Zumba® experience.

Why? Because it's the best party around.

Steps Tay Health logo

Steps Tay Health

Steps Tay Health is an Angus walking project, which is aimed at improving the public's mental and physical health as well as increasing physical activity levels. The project is supported by Angus Community Health Partnership and is funded by NHS Tayside and Paths to Health. Walking groups have been set up in Monifieth, Carnoustie, Letham and Arbroath.

These walking groups are free and open to everyone and are a great way to meet new people, increase confidence as well as improve levels of physical activity.

The walks, which are on flat ground, usually last 30 minutes and are tailored to suit the individual's own fitness level. Each walk is led by experienced walk leaders and allows participants to explore their community. There is no special equipment required, just a pair of comfortable shoes.

Steps Tay Health is continually developing across Angus and has established links with dieticians, physiotherapists, weight management, exercise referral and smoking cessation.

The project is also closely linked with Angus Gold and many of the Angus Gold members are walk leaders for Steps Tay Health.

Steps Tay Health walking groups meet at:

The Steps Tay Health project also provides volunteer opportunities to become a walk leader. So, if you know a community/organisation that would benefit from a walking group or are interested in becoming a volunteer or a walk leader, please contact Pamela Brown, Angus Walking Co-ordinator on 07881 478 366 or email pamelabrown4@nhs.net
